Two essence clips and possible supporting insulators that solder to a PCB ( published Circuit board) to hold a spherical fuse (like a 1 ″ x1/4 ″ dia 3AG fuse).
Another type vertically mounted

The fuse holder is a an electronics element that's installed on a published circuit board and allows for quick and easy relief of certain fuses. It may be installed by through- hole installation ( legs at either end of the fuse cut the aeroplane of the board in a plated through- hole (PTH) barrel that runs through the board). Fuse holders can also be installed by face mount installation (SMT) where the two outstations or ends of the fuse holder are soldered onto pads/ lands on the board face.

The fuses in these cases are generally the spherical glass kind and generally through- hole format. The holder allows for switching out or replacing, fuses that have gone bad or blown open.
An open condition occurs when a small conductive ground within the fuse is broken as too important current passes through it, breaking conductivity as an open circuit ( resistance in ohms = OL (over limit) on a multimeter = open condition = no current flowing).
There are also small face mount chip factors that serve as fuses (not fuse holders) on published circuit boards for small battery operated bias. The SMT fuse as a chip does n’t bear a holder, it’s soldered directly to the board. In substance it acts like a collapsible portion of a circuit trace.
